On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of September 2018, a "US Army Camp '44" is organised near the entrance of fort Eben-Emael. Ten re-enactment groups, more than eighty re-enactors and multiple vehicles certainly will be an impressive sight. Access to the "US Army Camp '44" is free of charge.
Both Saturday and Sunday between 1PM and 2PM, a Mock Battle will be held, based on the last combats before the liberation of the fortress. Wounded soldiers will be treated in a field hospital.
Please note that live commentary of the Mock Battle will be bi-lingual French / Dutch.
Between 10AM and 6PM (except during the Mock Battle between 1PM and 2PM), you can discover the numerous military vehicle, fieldkitchen, fieldhospital, the chaplain, ... at a static display. There will also be some demonstrations, like clearing a mine-field.
You can also visit the fortress between 10PM and 4PM (departure last visit). Normal rates apply. Visits in English and German are available, no reservations are required.
