A visit with guided tour are possible almost every day of the year, subject to an advance booking. The fort is closed on Mondays and on a number of (public) holidays. A minimum fee applies for reserved visits.

Standard visit and guided tour of the interior

  • The minimum admission, for a group of 15 participants, is €120. A fee of €8 will be charged for every additional participant.
  • The minimum admission for groups, of which all the participants are entitled to the reduced admission (*), is €90, based on a group of 15 people. A fee of €6 will be charged for every additional participant.
  • Discount holders (*) are: senior citizens 65+, young people between the ages of 12 and 18 yo, students with a student card, wheelchair users.
  • Two companions, of schools and groups of disabled visitors, are entitled to free admission. Please note there must be two companions for every one guide.
  • Programme: (the programme can be adapted)
    • introduction to the fort’s history
    • the barracks
    • tour through the underground galleries
    • an artillery casemate
    • the filtration rooms and/or the command post
    • entrance of a casemate where a heavy explosion took place
    • the museum
  • Wheelchair users cannot access the artillery casemate

  • The minimum admission for groups, of which all the participants are entitled to the reduced admission (*), is €110, based on a group of 15 people. A fee of €6 will be charged for every additional participant.
  • Discount holders (*) are: senior citizens 65+, young people between the ages of 12 and 18 yo, students with a student card, wheelchair users.
  • An additional guide will be provided as of 31 participants and for every additional 30 participants. The total price will be increased by €20 for every additional guide.
  • Two companions, of schools and groups of disabled visitors, are entitled to free admission. Please note there must be two companions for every one guide.
  • Programme: (the programme can be adapted)
    • introduction to the fort’s history
    • the barracks
    • tour through the underground galleries
    • an artillery casemate
    • the filtration rooms and/or the command post
    • entrance of a casemate where a heavy explosion took place
    • the museum
    • walk on the fort’s upper plateau and explanation by the guide about how the gliders landed and about the attack on the plateau
  • The participants of this tour must have a good physical condition.
  • Wheelchair users cannot access the artillery casemate and the fort’s upper plateau
  • Good walking shoes and clothes that are adapted to the weather conditions are required

  • A short introduction to the fort, which is perfectly suited to people whose physical condition is not as good

  • This tour is suited for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users

Long visit and guided tour for connoisseurs interior and exterior

  • The minimum admission, for a group of 15 participants, is €240. A fee of €16 will be charged for every additional participant.

    • historic discussion
    • the barracks
    • tour through the underground galleries
    • an artillery casemate
    • the filtration rooms
    • the command post
    • entrance of a casemate where a heavy explosion took place
    • the museum
    • the tour can be adapted, in consultation with the guide, where possible
    • walk on the fort’s upper plateau and explanation by the guide about how the gliders landed and about the attack. If possible, walk to the vantage point from where you can see the Albert Canal and the plateau of the river Meuse.
  • The participants of this tour must have a good physical condition.
  • Good walking shoes and clothes that are adapted to the weather conditions are required
  • This tour is not suited for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users
