This type of visit is recommended if you:

  • wish to visit the fort and take a guided tour with your family and/or friends without other visitors joining your private group
  • you want to visit on a (week)day that suits you

The fort is closed on Mondays and on a number of (public) holidays. A minimum fee applies for private visits.

If there are more than 15 people in your group, we kindly refer you to group bookings.

  • The minimum admission fee is €120.
  • If all the participants are entitled to a reduced admission (*), then the minimum fee is €90.
  • Discount holders (*) are: senior citizens 65+, young people between the ages of 12 and 18 yo, students with a student card, wheelchair users.
  • You will be accompanied by your own personal guide during your visit

    • the barracks
    • tour through the underground galleries
    • an artillery casemate
    • the filtration rooms and/or the command post
    • entrance of a casemate where a heavy explosion took place
    • the museum
  • Wheelchair users cannot access the artillery casemate

  • You will be accompanied by your own personal guide during your visit

    • the barracks
    • tour through the underground galleries
    • an artillery casemate
    • the filtration rooms and/or the command post
    • entrance of a casemate where a heavy explosion took place
    • the museum
    • walk on the fort’s upper plateau and explanation by the guide about how the gliders landed and about the attack on the plateau
  • The participants of this tour must have a good physical condition.
  • Wheelchair users cannot access the artillery casemate and the fort’s upper plateau
  • Good walking shoes and clothes that are adapted to the weather conditions are required

    • the tour can be adapted, in consultation with the guide, where possible
    • walk on the fort’s upper plateau and explanation by the guide about how the gliders landed and about the attack If possible, walk to the vantage point from where you can see the Albert Canal and the plateau of the river Meuse.
  • The participants of this tour must have a good physical condition.
  • Good walking shoes and clothes that are adapted to the weather conditions are required
  • This tour is not suited for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users
